Poem: Tell Me

Tell me
you need me in your life
you want me near
to hold my hand.
Your arm around me… put!
You want the warmth
my body gives
the pleasures
we may share.

The mornings, noons, and night-times
that spin out into years
of you and me together
on something to depend.
And you may whisper
if you like…
or sing it on the air
that you and me
from here on in
are gonna be
a pair!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Recipe: Peanut Butter Balls

The original Peanut Butter Ball recipe came from Great-Aunt Mary. She would send us some at Christmas, along with the marshmallows with cherries stuck on each one. They were a standard when Ted and I were first married. I found the recipe in the cookbook that Doug Lee put together a few years ago.

Aunt Mary’s Peanut Butter Balls

Mix in a saucepan and boil for 1 minute…
1 cup of corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
vanilla and salt (1/2 tsp each)

Add 1 cup peanut butter to the above mixture.

In another large bowl mix…
4 cups of Corn Flakes
2 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup coconut

Add the saucepan mixture into large bowl mixture.

Form to balls.

And that is how it was!!! mymy

Poem: Lunch was so Merry

Thank you for a scrumptious lunch…

Lunch was so merry
with Peter and Sherry…
…..(and vodka and wine
……….I might add)
a stratta… frittata
…..… all fluff and puff
so relieved there was more than enuff!

Dessert, so divine…
…..tried to stay on the tray
But leaving it there?
…..no way!
Ask Jim… it was seconds for him.

We were kept well alive…
…..there in #405
with tales of the travels of Enid
…..such  extravagant things that
……….shedid !

A brunch to remember
…..here in December
however mystically…
…..synchronistically, it isn’t
……….YET!
